Survey Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to learn how to integrate various computer applications to create, analyze, and summarize the results of a survey. You will select a professionally-related topic, create a 5-question survey, administer the survey to at least 10 people in the class, analyze the results using Excel, and present the results using the Pitchbook from Powerpoint.
Part I - Select Topic
Select a topic that falls within your professional field. Think about a topic where you can use a survey to determine people's opinion or knowledge of your topic. Research your topic in order to be able to provide some background information to your reader and to develop appropriate questions.
Part II - Create and Administer Survey
Access Survey Monkey and sign up for a basic, free account. Create a five question survey on your topic. At least one question must be included from each of the following formats: multiple choice, matrix choices or rating scale, textbox and 2 other questions of your choosing (can be the same type but you should end up with four different types of questions). Administer your survey to at least 10 people in your class.
Part III - Analyze Results
Analyze the data and summarize the results of your survey. Use Excel to create appropriate charts or tables for the presentation of your survey data. There must be at least two appropriate charts used and at least one table used. A chart and/or table must be created for each question. You should end up with a total of at least five charts and tables. Interpret the results of each question and then summarize your results.
Part IV - Present Results
Use Powerpoint's pitchbook to present the results of your survey. Your presentatin should include a coverpage, executive summary, brief summary of the purpose and methods for administering the survey, a presentation of the results for each of the questions, and a conclusion.
