The purpose of this assignment is to develop a two-page fact sheet on a contemporary professional topic drawn from the national research on health and physical activity. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, "Fact Sheets are brief, “must-read” documents that provide background information, the latest data, current snapshots, and key trends on important health policy topics. They are updated as new information or statistics become available"(KKF).

Fact sheets are used to inform interested individuals about key facts related to a specific topic. They often include several paragraphs of information, a chart or two, and bulleted highlighted facts. The idea is that a fact sheet allows the reader to quickly grasp relevant facts and figures from a large study.

Research a health or physical activity area of your choosing, identifying key research and facts related to this area. Use your research to create your fact sheet. At least two relevant, professional sources should be used. Be sure to consider readability -- and the use of white space in making an informative, easy to read, fact sheet.

Requirements

 

Create your fact sheet in WORD. It should include the following elements:

• 2-page document, with appropriate layout, font.
• Attractive banner at the top
• At least one page that is organized into two columns with a line between the columns.
• A chart with relevant data
• A table with relevant data
• Two graphics appropriate to the topic, with both being of the same format (no clip art please).
• Colors that are appropriate to the topic.

Once you have completed your document, convert it to a .pdf and submit it via the Assignment link in Blackboard. Be sure to check out the grading rubric before submitting your work.
