Social Bookmarking

Assignment: Use social bookmarking as a tool in research.

• First read the article below and watch the video about social bookmarking.
  • Read about social bookmarking - 7 things you should know.
  • Watch video from YouTube about social bookmarking and del.icio.us and this video, explore del.ici.ous, which provides more detailed information about how to use and share del.ici.ous
• Go to del.icio.us and sign up for an account (I recommend getting/using a gmail account for this and some of the other activities we will be doing).
• For each of the assignments listed below, create the required bookmarks. For each bookmark, provide the name of the assignment as one tag and then provide one other tag per site (remember that if you want to take something like new york, you would type in new york as one word , e.g. new_york). Include a short annotation for each site.
• Include bookmarks for the following assignments:
  • Elements of Design - the good and bad website you selected.
  • National Health Observances - 2 sites used as references.
  • WORD newsletter - 2 sites used as references.
  • Web information page assignment - 4 resources on your topic.
  • Excel charting assignment - site (s) used for your data
• Print screen your bookmarks, paste it into a WORD document, and submit it.

Example - a bookmark or tag for the Elements of Design assignment would elements and then you would identify your website you used for the assignment -- health. So the two tags would be elements health
