Information Page
The purpose of this assignment is to further develop your ability to use the World Wide Web as an informational tool. You will develop a web page on a topic of interest to you and one that will demonstrate your ability to use the web to convey professional information to your intended audience. This project should demonstrate your knowledge of a professional content area and your ability to integrate technology within your professional field.
The following steps are involved in the process:
- Select a topic within the broad field of health, physical education, recreation, exercise, or sport.
- Locate 5 sources on the web on your topic. Each source must be different, that is, each URL must reflect a different domain name (http://www.ithaca.edu/library and http://www.ithaca.edu/hr are considered ONE url ~ not two)
. Be sure your sources are credible.
- Construct a web page for your topic.
- Organize your material sequentially.
- There should be at least four screens of information.
- Use text to provide a transition between the links.
- Use graphics and images to enhance your presentation (minimum of 5 graphics).
- In order to assess whether the individual understood the information presented, develop a 10-question quiz. You can make the quiz at Survey Monkey.
- Use internal navigation within your instruction page, with there being at least four sections within your page.
- Make a link from your personal home page to your information page.
Remember that you will likely include this page in your electronic portfolio. Once again, it should reflect your ability to integrate technology with your professional expertise.
Internal navigation - Remember that you must first create the anchor, then link to the anchor using the # sign and the name of the anchor (no spaces).Examples of internal navigation are presented below:
