My Story

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to help you become proficient in the use of tables. You will create a web page to convey a "story".. This "story" can range from something you have made up (my pathway to fitness) to an historical story (development of tennis in the US or women's athletics) to specific information about a topic (physical activity and health of the nation's children or principles of strength training) or information about your life.

Assignment: The story should have at least five different parts, with each part presented in a table and the tables arranged in sequence. Each part of the story must have images and text that goes along with the images. The requirements of the assignment are listed below:

• The pages clearly relates the story, which is organized in a logical sequence and well-written.
• The page should specify the body color or background and colors for the text and links.
• At the top of the page is the title of the page created using Media Builder , FlamingText, Cool Archive, Cool Text, Great Sites logo maker, Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop).
• The story is organized in a series of at least 5 tables- each table only has one row and two columns.
• The width of the table is specified as a 700 pixels and each table is centered on the page. A border is optional.
• Pictures alternate the sides of the page. They are appropriately sized and centered.
• The text is written in complete sentences and each picture is explained. The text develops the sequence of the story -- it has a introduction, a body or middle, and an ending or closing. The text should make sense.
• There should be at least 5 links, either incorporated into the text or as clickable images.
• The information presented is accurate and up-to-date.
• There is continuity on the page between the color scheme of the page, that of the tables and pictures, and the title image. It should look good!
• At the bottom of the page is the "Date of Last Modification" for this page and a link that returns the reader to your personal home page (index.htm).
• A link to this page is contained on your home page (index.htm).

Here is a sample story about the history of my home town, Floral Park. Notice how the pictures and text alternate, with the full page being used.
