Are you excited at the prospect of a career in one of today's hottest industries? Would you like to participate in the development of an information system for a small local business or a more extensive intranet for a national corporation? When you complete our program in computer information systems, you'll be prepared to improve the performance of people through the use of information technology. Your preparation comes through a solid grounding in the liberal arts seasoned with core courses that advance your study of the basic computing machine.

Just like all other computing majors, you'll develop the technical skills necessary for developing sophisticated computer systems to solve complex problems. You'll begin your studies by using computers to learn basic problem solving. Later you'll focus on organization within database systems, communicating across computer networks, and presentations using advanced web programming and user interfaces.

The curriculum also incorporates coursework from our School of Business to prepare you to communicate with businesses and understand how technology can support the goals of functional areas such as operations, finance, and marketing. As a senior, you'll work on a semester-long team project that will require you to apply what you've learned to solve a complex, real-world organizational information systems problem.

Computer systems are at the heart of nearly every professional organization. Our program will prepare you to step into an exciting and challenging career designing, implementing, and maintaining this important infrastructure in almost any industry.
