Overview of the Application Process

Step One: Save a tree -- apply online!

Ithaca accepts the Common Application exclusively. Just fill out the Common Application and the special Ithaca supplement online.

Learn more about our early decision option.

Ithaca only accepts the Common Application. We strongly encourage you to submit this application online, along with the Ithaca College supplement you'll find on the Common Application site. If you prefer to use the printed version of the Common Application, you can download a PDF of our supplement on the Common Application site.

Step Two: Do a bit of paperwork.

This is easy. Print out the secondary school report, midyear report, and teacher evaluation forms you'll find on the Common App website, and give them to your guidance counselor.

Requirements for: Transfer Students  |  International Students

The secondary school report and your official high school transcript give us a picture of your high school career.  The midyear school report will update us on your senior year progress.  Simply print them out and hand them over to your guidance counselor to complete.

If you use the printed version of the Common Application instead of applying online, you'll need to fill out your sections of these reports before giving them to your guidance counselor.

The application process for transfer and international students has some different requirements. Review the info above and don't hesitate to contact the Office of Admission if you have further questions.

Some programs have special requirements. Check them out below.

Step Three: Tell us the score.

If for some reason you didn't tell the SAT or ACT people to send us your scores when you took the test, arrange to have them sent ASAP.

Special note for transfer students only: You may send us your scores if you like, but you don't have to!

Odds are you listed Ithaca as a destination for your test scores before you answered your first multiple choice question. But if your interest in Ithaca is recent, make sure the proper testing agency sends us an official score report before the application deadline (your high school will have request forms). If you took the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), we'll need a score report for that as well.
