Does Ithaca prepare students for law school?
If you're interested in pursuing a career in law or a law-related field, Ithaca can help: our academic flexibility allows you to prepare for the rigors of law school while pursuing your choice of majors. Our unique major and minor in legal studies is superb preparation for law school. Students learn rudimentary law as well as how to research using online databases. The School of Business offers a program culminating in a B.A. in legal studies or your academic adviser can help you develop an individualized program that optimizes the training you'll need; for additional help you can contact our specialized prelaw advisers anytime. The prelaw program is coordinated between the School of Humanities and Sciences and the School of Business. And when it comes time to apply to law schools, the Office of Career Services will assist you with selection, forms, and test preparation.
