Frequently Asked Questions
I'm an international student. How do I apply for a student visa?
Non-U.S. citizens need an I-20 form (a certificate of eligibility) in order to apply for an F-1 student visa. Ithaca College issues I-20 forms to candidates who have been offered admission, have paid their advance deposit, and have provided requisite financial documentation.
You may apply for an F-1 visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. You will need to show the letter of acceptance, the I-20 form, your passport, and proof of financial ability to attend Ithaca College. You may also need to pay a $200 SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) fee.
