Are you excited at the prospect of a career in one of today's hottest industries? Would you like to participate in the development of an information system for a small local business or a more extensive intranet for a national corporation? When it comes to our program in computer information systems, you'll be prepared to improve the performance of people through the use of information technology. This means a solid grounding in the liberal arts seasoned with core courses that advance your study of the basic computing machine.

Just like all other computing majors, you'll become familiar with several programming languages and dig into the fundamental concepts and techniques of discrete mathematics and programming. As you tackle programming, you'll learn by doing in our four computerized classroom labs and our dedicated systems lab.

Your professors will stress the importance of understanding the structure and use of the language you're working with, as well as encourage you to develop problem-solving skills that culminate in the design, implementation, and testing of your programs. You'll polish your skills with an understanding of algorithms and data structures that are fundamental to programming.

You'll then take this core knowledge to the next level by critically looking at how to successfully support the goals of organizations and their management through the use of technology.
