If you're interested in the fields of fitness, health, health care, sport, or leisure but want to explore the career possibilities before choosing a major, then the Health Sciences and Human Performance Preprofessional Program is for you. This flexible option gives you up to four semesters to sample courses, meet faculty and fellow students, and learn more about yourself and your interests before applying into a specific degree program. Faculty advisers from the Office of Preprofessional Studies will support and guide you every step of the way, from helping you select and register for courses to identifying a career path you'll be passionate about.

We offer several introductory courses -- in communication disorders, health and physical education, critical health issues, sport management, and leisure and society, among others -- that are designed to acquaint you with various professions. Other courses for first-year students are focused around primary professional areas -- clinical rehabilitative and therapeutic disciplines, health, exercise science, recreation and leisure services, sport management and media, or education.
