Internship Requirement
Internships
A degree in health care management requires six credits of internship, usually taken in the summer between the junior and senior years or three credits at a time over two semesters. The internship is intended to be a supervised, intensive and well planned experience. Students will have the opportunity to
-
learn in a specific health care delivery setting of their choice (see list below);

test their interests and ideas;

conduct health care management work; and
-
develop professional skills and expectations.
Some examples of internship work include

assisting with managing a clinic, department, or office;

applying strategic and financial skills to project work for a health administrator;

researching and analyzing legal and ethical issues related to health care management;

organizing activities and meetings for allied health care workers.

Internship sites vary with the student's interests, geographical preferences, and learning objectives. To the best of our ability, each internship will be tailored to the specific needs of each student. Examples of internship sites include:
