Firmly grounded in the liberal arts, our program in theater arts management offers you a wealth of opportunity in virtually all aspects of theater management.

We encourage you to pursue all aspects of theater; your introductory courses in acting, directing, design, and history of theater will complement your program of study. Our program offers intensive, practical training in theater arts management combined with a well-rounded education in the liberal arts. Formal coursework, internships, and hands-on experience will help you develop skills and competencies in marketing, personnel management, publicity, front-of-house activities, accounting, and development. You'll learn by doing as you work with box office, house, production, and subscription campaign staff.

The bachelor of science degree in theater arts management is designed to provide students with the skills that will enable them to secure entry-level positions in professional theater or related fields. Many Ithaca students take advantage of the Ithaca community theaters in further preparation for their careers.
