This year’s Academic Achievement Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Offices of Academic Enrichment Services, Career Services, and Multicultural Affairs was held during Ithaca College’s Homecoming week-end on October 6, 2007. Student hosts Jaylene Clark ’10 and Peter Harriott ’08 welcomed over 200 students, alumni, administrators, faculty, staff, families and guests. The evening included musical performances by Amber Didas ’11 and Deanalis Resto ’11, as well as a dance performance by Elizabeth Cronin ’11 and William Perez ’11. The evening’s guest speaker was Howard University professor Melanie Thwaites, D.D. S, who graduated from Ithaca in 1973 with a bachelors degree in chemistry. This year’s Montana Morton Memorial Award recipients were seniors Catherine Borst, Rachel Borst and Jacqueline Munoz. Jennilee Valentin ’09 and Katherine Jones ’08 were presented the Academic Persistence Award. Over 120 HEOP and ALANA students were recognized on stage as they received pins for either their outstanding academic achievement or their exceptional academic achievement
Professionals Symposium 2006 was held September 15-16 during Ithaca College’s Homecoming week-end. Student hosts Tschika Mcbean ’07 and Peter Harriott ’08 welcomed over 200 students, alumni, administrators, faculty, staff, families and guests to the annual Awards Banquet. Carlos Perkins ’99 returned to campus to deliver a keynote speech. The evening included several musical performances by talented first-year students who attended the OMA Summer Institute. This year’s Montana Morton Memorial Award recipients were presented to seniors Doreen Mashu and Betsabe Luna. Both young women were recognized for their academic excellence, leadership, and community service during their tenure at IC. Over 100 ALANA and HEOP students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements during the 2005-06 academic year.
