Denielle Kassan '11
Major: Clinical Health Studies
Denielle comes to Ithaca College from nearby Binghamton, NY. She is studying Physical Therapy and plans to graduate after 6 years with a doctorate. She is recognized as Student of the Month for her excellence in schoolwork as well as community service and all around hard work. You can usually find Denielle in the office of Academic Enrichment Services where she works as an office assistant and also works for Collegiate-Science and Technology Entry Program as a peer mentor. She recently had the opportunity to work in her field in an internship. This summer Deni shadowed a Physical Therapist in her local city of Binghamton at the Handicap Children’s Association. Although Denielle is only a junior she has managed to be a part of many groups and activities on campus. She was an E-board member for African Latino Society as a sophomore and has had many ties to the Summer Institute since her arrival to Ithaca College in summer of 2007. She was a Peer Counselor the very next summer in 2008 and a programs assistant for the 2009 summer institute. The Higher Education Opportunity Program has helped Denielle grow as a student at Ithaca College and she continues to push herself above and beyond. Last year Denielle was honored at the annual HEOP banquet with an award for earning the highest grade point average of the students of her year. Denielle continues to work hard and better herself as a student.
