Admission Requirements

What are the requirements for admission to the program? 

The Certificate in Applied Gerontology is an undergraduate-level program that includes courses at the junior and senior levels.  Applicants must demonstrate that they have the skills necessary to complete college-level work.  Entrance to the program is available to applicants who can demonstrate :

  • A baccalaureate or advanced degree, or
  • An associates or nursing degree and two years professional experience working with elders
  • A combination of some academic coursework and more than two years professional experience, and a recommendation from a current or past employer in a related health or social services field.
