School of Communications Celebrates 40th Anniversary during Alumni Weekend 2013
Today the Roy H. Park School of Communications houses more than 1,500 students, but its beginnings date back to 1931 when the first radio course was taught. Additional classes focused on television began during the 1950s. Two decades later, the department moved from the College of Arts and Sciences to become its own division. In 1973, the School of Communications was founded, later named after Roy H. Park.
We hope you will join us for an open house on Sunday, October 13, 2013, featuring a champagne toast and interactive activities throughout Park Hall to celebrate our 40th anniversary:
- Sit in and request your favorite song on WICB's Best of Broadway and Breakfast with the Beatles
- Create your own front page at the Ithacan
- Get interviewed or run camera for "Hobby Lobby" in the TV studio
- Create souvenir pictures in our digital photo booth
- Choose your favorite branding and advertising strategies in our new creative AdLab classroom
Rooms will also be set up for each decade filled with memories and projects from your time at Ithaca College.
More information will be posted in the coming months on the Alumni Weekend website. So please mark the weekend of October 11-13 in your calendar now!
