Volunteer Opportunities
Ways to Volunteer:
Alumni Relations
The Office of Alumni Relations is always on the lookout
for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help plan activities. Whether
for events held on campus (e.g. Alumni Weekend or Homecoming), or clubs
and regional programs (e.g., Network Nights, receptions, or theater events),
you'll get great satisfaction from helping to forge Ithaca's bright future.
Here are two ways you can become involved:
- spearhead your reunion class activities as a class chair
- help plan regional events as an alumni club coordinator
Please call us at (607) 274-3194, or e-mail us at alumni@ithaca.edu, if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.
Admission
The alumni admission program is an organization of active and well-informed alumni who represent Ithaca College in their local communities. They participate in a variety of recruiting activities, all of which help the professional admission staff recruit the best high school students. The program allows alumni to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with prospective students in their communities, and helps the admission office develop relationships with the next wave of Ithacans.
The admission office has several other programs in which
alumni can help the College: college fairs, individual sessions with students,
and regional receptions, to name just a few. For additional information
please e-mail Tina Stewart '83 (tstewart@ithaca.edu),
assistant director of admission. For your convenience you can also call
(607) 274-3124 or (800) 429-4274.
Career Services
Your career experience is a valuable resource. Share
it with students and alumni who are eager for advice on choosing a career,
finding a job, or advancing up the ladder. Spend 5 minutes answering an
e-mail . . . 10 minutes posting
a job or internship notice . . . or two hours attending a career fair
or Network
Night. No matter how much time you invest, you’ll reap the timeless
pleasure of helping a member of the IC community.
Representatives from all career fields are welcome. If you,
or anyone you know, would like more information, e-mail John Bradac (jbradac@ithaca.edu),
director of career services, or call (607) 274-3365.
Fund-Raising
The success of the Ithaca Fund and many of our other fund-raising efforts depends greatly on the dedication of our volunteers. Volunteers serve a variety of roles, including
- class agents
- giving club chairs
- phonathon callers
- corporate and foundation contacts
If you would like to serve as a volunteer, please e-mail
Marsha Eger (meger@ithaca.edu),
director of the Ithaca Fund, or call (607) 274-1155. We would love to
hear from you!
