Alumni Association |

Welcome
from the President
Dear Friends and fellow IC alumni,
More than 46,000 alumni, living across the United States and in at least
20 other nations, comprise our alumni association. As its recently elected
president, I encourage you to reconnect with our alma mater. Please join
us at Alumni Weekend ’07 or attend one of the 80-plus alumni regional
club events held each year.
There are lots of fun ways to give your support to Ithaca, which needs
us if it is to continue to thrive. You can volunteer as an alumni admissions
representative and represent the College at a local (to you) admissions
fair. Or return to campus and speak in a class. Or become an alumni career
services representative who advises students. Or attend a Network Night
during the winter semester break and talk to current students about your
own career path. Or host an internship. Or list job opportunities for
recent graduates. Or all of the above!
It’s also important to the future of Ithaca College that we as
alumni – those who have benefited from an IC education – support
it financially. When considering giving grants and awards, foundations
and corporations want to know if each institution’s alumni believe
in the value of their own diploma enough to give financial support, no
matter how modest. Our numbers as individual donors count, not only the
number of dollars we donate individually. The more of us who invest in
the College, the greater likelihood that outside funders trust the wisdom
of their own investment.
Please remember this when the College contacts you to ask for your financial
support. And please be in touch with the Office of Alumni Relations to
let them know you’d like to support the College in other ways.
I hope to see you at Network Nights or at a regional club event!
