Thad Fortin is the chief executive officer for Haas Group International Inc., the largest chemical management services company in the world. Located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, the company employs more than 1,200 people and in 2010 had revenues of $521 million.
In his role as CEO, Thad plans and directs all aspects of Haas's policies, objectives, and initiatives, and is responsible for the short- and long-term profitability and growth of the company. He has been with Haas Group International since 1981.
Thad graduated from IC in 1981 and has been active as a volunteer for the College. Currently, he serves as chairman of the School of Business's Business Advisory Council. In this capacity, he led an effort to hire two new professional staff members whose focus is the creation of a comprehensive internship and career development program in the school -- called the Professions Program.
He has been a member of the President's Roundtable since 2009 and is a past admissions volunteer. For the last five years, IC students have interned at Haas.
Thad has spoken on entrepreneurial innovation as part of the College's Distinguished Executive Lecture Series and is a familiar face at many College functions, from Network Nights to regional events.
