Right from her first year on campus, women's soccer midfielder Kim Gillman has been a standout student athlete. As a freshman, she appeared in 13 games and was named to the Empire 8 Presidents' List. Her sophomore year she bettered that achievement: She was a first-team Empire 8 all-star and a third-team selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America all-region team. She also earned a spot on the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association all-star team. In addition, she was named Empire 8 player of the week after scoring the only goal in a game against Cortland State.
This past year she earned Empire 8 all-star honors and was an all-tournament selection at Plattsburgh's Cardinal Classic. She was also named to the Empire 8 Presidents' List after maintaining a GPA over 3.75.
How does the psychology major juggle all her academic and team responsibilities? "Whenever I wonder how I will manage my time," she says, "I just remember that I enjoy doing everything that I do. I didn't realize how much I can do until I came to Ithaca College."
Kim Gillman, a graduate of New Paltz High School, is from New Paltz, New York.
