1.7.4 Administrative Councils

1.7.4.1 President's Council

This council meets at the call of the president and is responsible to the president. It advises the president on matters of institutional policy and practice and acts as a conduit to various administrative/faculty offices.

The council is composed of the president, vice presidents, dean of enrollment planning and the executive assistant to the president.

1.7.4.2 Academic Cabinet

The Academic Cabinet meets twice each academic semester. It provides a conduit for the flow of information to and from the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Academic Cabinet is composed of the provost and vice president for academic affairs; the associate provost and dean of graduate studies; the assistant provost for special programs; the five academic deans; the dean of enrollment planning; and the directors of academic support services for students with disability; the center for the study of culture, race, and ethnicity; the center for teacher education; continuing education and summer sessions, first year programs and orientation; the gerontology institute; the higher education opportunity program; international programs; the library; and the registrar.

1.7.4.3 Deans' Council

This Deans' Council meets regularly and is responsible to the provost and vice president for academic affairs. It advises the provost and vice president for academic affairs on matters pertaining to academic affairs and carries out policies agreed upon at the Deans' Council meetings, as well as other directives from the provost and vice president for academic affairs.

The Deans' Council is composed of the provost and vice president for academic affairs, the associate provost and dean of graduate studies, the assistant provost for special programs, and the five academic deans.
