Mission: The Ithaca College Ballroom Dance Club's mission is to bring the art of Ballroom Dance to light in the Ithaca Community. We strive to teach people the fundamentals of partner dancing and have a lot of fun in the process. We further strive to create an atmosphere that will allow, and encourage, students to network and create life long friendships. Dances: Dances taught include Cha Cha, Rhumba, Samba, Jive, Swing, Salsa, Mambo, Paso Doble, Bolero, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Hustle, Merengue and More! Socials: What good is learning how to dance if you can't use it. Every year we try to organize socials for the entire Ithaca Community. The first social will be the night before the Cayuga Dancesport Challenge! In addition to the Club sponsored socials, there are many venues in Ithaca where you can show off your new moves! Ithaca Swing Dance Instructors: Our instructors are advanced members of the Ballroom Club who have sought training outside from professional dancers. They have brought back what they learned to share with our community. In addition to our regular instructors, we have professional coaches who fly in a few times each semester. Yana Mazhnikova and her partner are ranked in the top twelve Latin Dance couples in the United States. Take advantage of these opportunities when you can! Their expertise is unrivaled here in Ithaca. Please join our mailing list for updates. Send us an email at icballroom[at]gmail.com and type subscribe into the "Subject" bar. ICLink: If you are an Ithaca College student, please sign up for an account on IC Link as well. Through this system, you can keep current with automatic updates, have access to club documents, shop at our store and communicate with other members from the club. |
