  1. Design Process in Director

    1. Process:

      Define the function of the movie

      Determine the specifications

      What animation will be included?
      What interactivity?

      Create initial design and a prototype

      Test the prototype

      Refine the design

      Create graphics and animations

      Write scripts

      Final testing

    2. Example.

      Function: a multiple choice on-line test:

      Storyboards show the screens (each screen may represent many frames):

      Introduction/welcome

      Data entry form

      Screens 3 and 4 (questions) are the same;
      written twice to show looping user makes choices to questions

      Results screen (entered when button on screens 3 and 4 pushed).

      Sign-off screen
      store user data and test results

      Specifications:

      Number of questions (or an upper limit)
      Which screens require interactivity (and thus scripts)
      Titles of scripts. Could be titles of handlers or movie scripts.

      Initial Design/Prototype:

      Prototype should allow navigation
      Some buttons/fields/etc. should be active

      Test/Refine the design.
      Final Implementation.
