Project Part 3

Due: Friday, 14 November

Overview. For this part of the project, you are to develop specifications from your detailed flow chart. Recall that the detailed flow chart represents every page of the site and each block in the general flow chart represents one cell of the structure column of the planning chart. See the Web design slides for a review of what specifications are.

You must list and number the specifications in your document. See the document section below for more details on the format.

You must meet with your client at least once. You are responsible for arranging the meeting. The meeting must be to discuss the specifications and to review the planning chart and the general and detailed flow chart. Your planning chart and flow charts must reflect the changes that I recommended and you must discuss these changes with your client. The specifications must be approved by the client.

Documents. For this part of the project you must produce a specifications document based on your detailed flow chart. The exact format of this document is flexible, but you must show where each specification comes from in the flow chart.

  1. Each specification must be listed separately in your document and specifications that relate to the same page must be grouped together.
  2. You must also have some system of numbering or lettering that relates the specifications to the detailed flow chart, then to the general flow chart, and finally to the planning chart. I must be able to look at a specification and easily trace it back to the planning chart item that it relates to.
  3. The specifications must be computer generated (you can, for example, use Microsoft Word or any other word-processing or graphics program).
  4. Your document must have a cover page that contains the name of the project, the contact person for the project and the your names.
  5. You must include all past projects in the packet that you turn in. All past projects must be updated to include any changes that you have made.
  6. These specifications must be signed and dated by both you and the client and turned in to me by the due date.
