Text Book: There is no textbook required for this course.
Goals and learning outcomes: On completion of this course you will understand how the systems of the human body work. You will use this understanding in the future to find and interpret information relevant to your body and your health.
Grading: Your course grade will be calculated from grades on homework assignments, quizzes (which may or may not be announced), and a final project. Quizzes and assignments are designed to evaluate your understanding of the function of systems of the human body.
There will be no in-class exams.
Homework: Since there are no tests in this class, homework is a big part of your grade. If you miss a lecture, it is up to you to find out if you missed an assignment. Assignments must be handed in on time for full credit. .
Make-up Quizzes: If you will miss a lecture, please let me know in advance (if possible) so that we can schedule a make-up quiz if necessary.
Final Exam: You will write a paper on a disease/disorder of your choice. Details will be discussed in class.
Attendance: You are expected to attend class. You are responsible for all material, even material presented during excused absences.

Please familiarize yourself with the definition of plagiarism. Academic dishonesty can lead to a zero grade on that assignment, a failing grade in the course, academic code probation, suspension or expulsion from the College depending on the gravity of the violation and the decision of the judicial board.
