General
Information
While the cost of books for each semester will vary by academic program
and individual student , you can estimate from $350 to $450 each semester.
These expenses are paid directly by students while they are on campus
and are not included in the bills for each semester. Where the Textbook
Dollar
Goes is a statistical illustration of the financial data.
Check Cashing Policy
1. All checks must be made to the Ithaca College Bookstore for the amount
of purchase only.
2. All checks must include local address and Ithaca College student ID
numbers.
3. All students writing checks must present a valid Ithaca College ID.
4. No checks may be post dated.
5. Second party checks are acceptable only if they are from a parent
and must be endorsed on the back left, "Pay to the order of the
Ithaca College Bookstore," plus the students signature and ID number.
Charge Sales
At the present time, the Bookstore accepts only Mastercard, Visa,
and Discover. We do not accept phone authorization or the use of a parent's
card.
ID Express
Your campus ID card now has an added option. It serves as your campus
identification card and as your ID Express, giving you a convenient,
easy and safe way
to make purchases on campus. Application and deposit forms are available
at the Bursar's office.
Returns Policy
General returns policy: All returns must be accompanied by a cash register
receipt.

INFORMATION AND POLICIES:
Early Textbook Reservation
Program The
Ithaca College Bookstore is pleased to introduce
a program for students to reserve their textbooks
for the next
semester. This will not only reserve your textbooks early,
but will provide you the best opportunity to obtain used
books instead of new. Buying used books can save 25% off
the new book price. NOTE: The FALL 2009
Semester Early Textbook Reservation Program has just started.
How
the reservation system works
1. Print a copy of the reservation form from the Bookstore
web site or pickup a printed form from the Bookstore (available
at the checkout counters).
2. Fill out the form include name, phone number, email address,
Ithaca College ID # and Academic status.
3. Fill out prepayment credit card information.Your Textbook
Reservation can not be processed without valid phone and
Credit/Debit card numbers.
4. Fill in the department/course/section/instructor and used/new
textbook preference.
5. Select if you prefer new/used Required and Recommended
Textbooks OR Required only textbooks.
6. Select any additional items listed on the bottom of the
order form.
7. When the form is completed return the form to the Ithaca
College Bookstore, Fax it to the Bookstore at 607-274-1466
or mail it to the Ithaca College Bookstore at:

Reservation Requirements and Information
A. Reservations must be received at least 3 weeks prior to
the beginning of the term. Pick ups will begin on Freshmen
Move-In Day and conclude on the second day of classes. All
reservations not picked-up will be returned to our shelves
and charged a $10.00 Restocking Fee.
B. Textbook Reservations can be picked up at the Buyback
Window located down the hall from the Phillips Hall Annex
Post Office between the hours of 11:00am - 4:00pm. A $5.00
service charge applies to all Textbook Reservations. Student
ID Card is mandatory for pickup.
Remember, selling your books back at the end of the term
can cut your net Textbook Expense by up to one HALF! Thank
you for ordering your books from the Ithaca College Bookstore.

Textbook Information
Textbooks
can be purchased in the store or online. The online ordering
is listed on the Bookstore home web page under "Textbooks".
Information regarding this program is available below:
When:
FALL 2009 semester Online textbook ordering
will start in August, 2009. There is no guarantee
that
orders placed online
will be 100 percent filled when the packing process
begins.
Where:
The Bookstore home web page. We have a limited amount of
warehouse space for online orders. Once we have our
quota, the online service will be closed and no longer available
for the current semester. Textbooks will continue to
be available
at the Bookstore.
Fees:
There will be a packaging fee of $5.00 for each order. This
packaging fee will show as a handling charge on your Customer
Packing List. If you cancel your order, the packaging fee
will still be charged to your Credit/Debit card. If you do
not pickup your order, there will be an additional nonrefundable
restocking fee of $10.00. Total nonrefundable fees of $15.00
for orders placed and not picked up.
Payment:
You need to use one of the following Credit/Debit Cards to
complete and submit the online transaction: Visa,
MasterCard, or Discover. If you do not use a Credit/Debit Card, your
order will not process. Should we be unable to process your
Credit/Debit Card, your order will not be filled and you
will not be notified in advance. Books will be available
in the Bookstore.
Pickup:
Students must have their student ID card when picking up
online textbook orders, You may begin picking up your
reservations in August, 2009. All reservations
can be picked up at the Bookstore Buyback Window (located past
the
Post Office)
between
the hours of 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Orders not picked
up by announced pickup date will be returned
to the shelves and
will be assessed the restocking fee. Total nonrefundable
fees of $15.00 for orders placed and not picked up
will be charged at this time.
Notes:
If you experience connection problems with the Bookstore
Home Page, please disable your firewall, popup blocker and
enable Javascript in your internet browser (recommended browser
is Internet Explorer). Click on "Textbooks" to
start the online order process on the Ithaca College Bookstore
home page. Please be sure that you finalize your order, which
will be confirmed when the system issues your order number
information and generates an automatic email to you with
your order information.

BUYBACK AND TEXTBOOK REFUNDS
Buyback Policy
Retail
We will pay up to 50% of the book price providing the textbook:
A. Is being used on this campus for the upcoming semester
B. Is needed to fill the bookstore quota
C. Is in reusable condition
Example:
You paid $46.00 for a textbook
We will pay $23.00 or 50%
Wholesale
A. For books not needed on this campus, but having national
demand, up to 35% of the new price may be paid
B. Discontinued books are shipped to a wholesaler who recycles
them to other colleges and universities where they are needed
C. Old editions have no national value
Remember
A. Recycling your books is good for the environment and lowers
the price of textbooks
B. Books with writing and/or highlighting may have value
C. The book prices are determined by the publishers
D. Wholesale prices are based on national supply and demand
E. Copies in poor condition will be deducted appropriately
and possibly refused
F. Old editions have no value and cannot be purchased
Our goal is to buy as many of your books at 50% as possible.
Textbook Refund Policy
Following the first day of classes each semester, a time
period is scheduled to accommodate textbook refunds (posted
in the Bookstore and on this web site). This process takes
place at the buyback window located past the Phillips Hall
Annex Post Office.
A refund will be issued as long as the following requirements
are met:
A. You have a cash register receipt and student ID. NO EXCEPTIONS.
B. You purchased the book for the current semester.
C. New books cannot be marked in any way. Books purchased
in a sealed package MUST BE RETURNED in a sealed package
(NO EXCEPTIONS). Books purchased as used books may be returned
in that condition.
D. If you purchased by a credit card or ID Express, you will
be issued credit to that account, not cash.
E. Books must be returned during the designated return period
which will be posted in the textbook area of the
bookstore and on this web site. The
last day to return incorrectly purchased books for FALL
2009 semester will be Wednesday, September
2nd, 2009.

- FALL 2009 Textbook refund period
The FALL 2009 Textbook Refund Period will start Friday, August
28th, and continue Monday, August 31st, Tuesday and
Wednesday, September 1st & 2nd, 2009. The last day to return
incorrectly
purchased
books for FALL 2009 semester
will be Wednesday, September 2nd,
2009. Window
closes at 4 PM sharp.
