•        How does a person become part-time?

To OFFICIALLY become part-time a student must complete a “Permission to Enroll Part-time” form, available at the Registrar’s Office. The student must obtain certain signatures, such as his advisor, before turning in the form to the Registrar’s Office. Students who are technically part-time but who never officially register as such are dropped down to part-time status academically after Block 1. They are notified jointly by the Registrar and Financial Aid Office that they appear to be part-time, and are asked to contact either office. If they do not, the Registrar will give our office a list of part-time students who need adjustments to their tuition, and we change their charges accordingly.  Financial Aid, likewise, might be reduced to reflect the part-time status.

•        How can I get off the meal plan?

As IC is a residential campus, all students excepts those living off campus or in any of the apartments (Gardens, College Circle, Quad Apartments )are required to be on a meal plan. The food service makes an honest effort to offer a variety of food options and to assist in planning special needs diets. A student who asks to get off the meal plan for medical reasons must make an appeal to the director of the Health Center who, in turn, will consult with the Dining Services Director to see if the student’s needs can be met. If the director of the Health Center feels that the student should be removed from the meal plan, he sends an e-mail memo to the Bursar’s Office with the instructions that should be followed for the case (reduced to lesser plan, taken off the meal plan, etc). All students, must pay for the meal plan.

•        How can I change my meal plan?

A student who wishes to change their meal plan must do so online through the Homerconnect meal plan selection form. All students are required to be on at least the 10 meal plan if they live on campus, except Garden, Circle and the Quads appartments.

•       Check/ACH Payment Policy:

We will cash student checks for up to the posted amount, while the ATMs will disburse funds according to the current balance in the student's account and individual bank policies. Checks returned to the College for insufficient funds are subject to the policy below:

We will redeposit checks that are returned by the bank, giving such checks another chance to clear the bank. No check will be deposited more than two times.

Checks that do not clear will be charged back to your account, and you will be assessed a $25 bad check fee per check. With second-party checks, the person endorsing the check will be charged the amount of the check, and the person writing the check will be assessed the fee. In addition to the $200 late fee, a $75 bad check fee will be imposed if you submit a tuition check over $500 that is returned. Returned ACH online payments are subject to a $25 returned ACH fee.

If you issue two bad checks you will lose your check cashing privileges for a year. Repeat offenders may face judicial action. After check-cashing privileges are restored, any additional bad checks will result in the permanent loss of check cashing privileges at the College.

Parents or guardians who have had two checks returned to the College will no longer be able to pay by personal check. Payment must then be made by cashier's check, money order, or credit card.

No financial penalties or loss of privileges will be incurred if checks are returned because of bank errors, as long as the bank sends us a letter confirming its responsibility for the error.

We reserve the right to rescind the option to pay by personal check.
