Open Houses
The Deans' Hosts are allotted approximately one-and-a-half hours during the Ithaca Today and Admission open house events, in which they present programs concerning the School of Business and respond to questions from prospective students and their parents.
Dates: September 27, October 4, and October 25, 2008. Please contact the Admissions Office to register for the events.
Ithaca and You
During a weekday, while classes are in session, the Deans' Hosts members hold a scheduled question-and-answer session with prospective students. Visitors are then accompanied by the members of the organization to lunch where dialogue continues. Several members assist the associate dean in responding to additional questions at an "information table" function, where all schools and many campus organizations are represented. The day concludes with a tour of the Smiddy Hall facilities and a trading room demonstration.

Ithaca Today and Ithaca Tonight- Accepted Student Overnight Program
This is the largest program in which the organization participates. The day begins with a large opening session chaired by the dean of the School of Business and a faculty speaker. Members of the Deans' Hosts then escort parents and students to points of interest on campus and, during the walk, respond to questions. The students and their parents are then joined by the remaining Deans' Hosts members at a luncheon. The day concludes with programs and demonstrations in the School of Business. After this, the accepted students have the option of staying overnight with a current School of Business student. The Deans' Hosts plan fun evening activities and the students enjoy a real taste of what its like to be here at Ithaca!

Phone-a-thon
Deans' Hosts members call prospective students and provide assistance in answering questions about the School of Business at Ithaca College.

Training Sessions
Improved public speaking is accomplished only through ongoing practice. The Deans' Hosts organization holds at least one training session during the academic year. This program allows members to practice their speaking skills and proper social etiquette.
