With this being my second year on the board, I feel like I have a very unique perspective. As a part of the executive board for the 2008-2009 academic year, I experienced firsthand the strengths and weaknesses of the club. I learned what worked well, and what did not. With that experience, I feel like the new executive board and I can build on our strengths and what worked well, along with cutting out and changing what did not.
This year, we started our planning months in advance and because of that have benefited in more enriching and helpful events. Along with Beta Alpha Psi, we have planned events for each week. So each week there will some sort of event to attend. Some events will be new and different, and some events roll around annually, but I believe the key is to find a good balance of programming that students are interested in, along with events that will help them grow as they become professionals.
To accomplish our goals, we will need the dedication and commitment of all officers and members alike. With each event, ICAA gives its members a chance to interact and get involved. So please, whether you’re a freshman or a senior, participate, be active, and attend as many events as possible.
