Net Impact is a network of students and professionals dedicated towards creating a more sustainable business world. Ithaca College is now an affiliated chapter with this global organization which includes over 20,000 members from six different continents of the world. We are the newest student organization launched within the School of Business but are much focused on being a multidisciplinary organization.
to promote sustainability and awareness for students across campus through education and community involvement; we will use the power of business to implement social change.
shape the future of business and society by becoming leaders in corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and much more.
is to raise awareness of Net Impact as both a student organization on campus and as a nation-wide organization which provides access to networking professionals around the world and other great online tools exclusive to NI members. We will also look into maximizing event effectiveness by utilizing social media tools such as a club website and Facebook. We want to enhance student leadership opportunities by exploring professional development resources and opportunities through the Net Impact international database. Using these resources will help us plan events and initiate projects that provide real-life experiences for students interested in sustainability.
Future plans include: participating in community service projects each semester, hosting diverse speakers and networking nights with business professionals focused on sustainability, furthering compost education on campus and much more!
Ithaca College’s chapter of Net Impact was founded by Alyssa Weinberg ’12 and Katie Oertel ’13 with the help of Professors Hormoz Movassaghi and Aimee Ellis.
