Majors: marketing and communication management and design
Internship location: Cornell Cooperative Extension, Ithaca, New York
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is one of 56 such associations in New York State affiliated with a nationwide network of cooperative extensions offering community programs in areas such as agriculture and food systems; children, youth, and families; community and economic vitality; environment and natural resources; and nutrition and health.
At the CCE, I helped to develop the Finger Lakes Reuse Center for Tompkins County. I put together a marketing plan that will be used as a guide to develop marketing and promotional activities for launching the organization. I had the opportunity to partake in executive board meetings. I found it worthwhile to express my opinions and ideas about the structure of the organization -- I truly appreciate how much they valued my work and interest in sustainability.
Earlier in the semester I put together a situation analysis report, and towards the end of the semester added more components such as product, price, promotion, and place. Cornell Cooperative Extension offered me a full-time job after graduation. This was my third internship, and I have to say it has has been the most successful one!
