The School of Business requires that all incoming first-year students purchase a laptop equipped with Microsoft Office. This will allow students to make the most of their educational experience, enabling them to develop proficiency in using the same type of technology most often employed in the business community.
The college has partnered with the Dell computer company to provide state-of-the-art "business class" laptops at significant savings. Dell is a proven technology leader and offers consistent quality and service.
The next page will present two Dell Latitude models, one with a 14.1-inch screen and the other with a 15.4-inch screen. The larger screen makes it easier for users to work with complex spreadsheets, but either model will meet the requirements of all degree programs in the School of Business.
Both models are configured with built-in wireless cards and come with four-year warranty coverage and Dell CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service, which covers repair and replacement for various accidental damages.
If you plan to use your computer before coming to campus, you may want to add virus protection software to your purchase -- or you can wait until your arrival and download the McAfee VirusScan product from Information Technology Services at no cost.
