This is Sherry here. It’s the end of the first week back to school and an exciting week it has been. The new business building is up and running and it’s the talk of the campus. Numerous times a day one can witness students, faculty, and staff exploring every nook and cranny the new building has to offer. As a student, I am ecstatic about taking classes in this building.
All five of my classes this semester are in the building and I work for the Student Services Team on the third floor. Needless to say, I am in the building quite a lot. I was fortunate enough to be among the first students in the building last spring and had the opportunity to take numerous tours since. It has awe struck me to see the building come together and made me appreciate how much time and effort went into it. I am really excited about giving tours of the building to prospective students and their families starting in February.
Four days into classes and already things are getting hectic. Of course it doesn’t help that I am involved in a gazillion things, but I like things busy. On Tuesday the first American Marketing Meeting (AMA) of the semester was held. I am really excited about the prospect of this semester. Over break I book my airline ticket to go to New Orleans in April for the AMA annual conference. I am psyched.
I am also involved in Business Sustainability Ambassadors (BSA) and president of Sigma Iota Epsilon. I work for the President’s office too. Yeah, I know crazy busy. I am really going to need to take this weekend and get organized and prepared for the semester. My winter break was absolutely fantastic. I spent it with my family, boyfriend, and high school friends and enjoyed every minute of it. I really was not ready to come back to school, but here I am.
As you can probably tell, my mind bounces everywhere. I can promise you it probably won’t get any better, but I will try. Have a good one!

It’s Monday at 3 and I have yet to have a class. Man, I love my schedule. I don’t have classes on Friday and don’t start on Monday or Wednesday until 4. This gives me ample time to schedule work, get homework done during the day, and even go to the gym (the earlier you go= the less fighting over machines needed). I hold two jobs on campus: one at the Student Services Team and one at the President’s office. I love them both! If you are looking for great jobs on campus, getting into an office setting is clutch. The staff here at IC is so nice and most jobs give you free time to get your work done. It’s an ideal situation. If you’re wondering how to get such an amazing job, they are posted on the Job Shop link at the Financial Aid website (ithaca.edu/finaid) and apply for one!
This weekend I had a meeting with the new tour guides of the Business School. I am super excited to be able to give tours of the new building. They start this Friday (2.1)! As a student, I would highly encourage everyone to jump on one of these tours as they show you the full extent of the building and maybe even tell you some things about the business school you didn’t know. They are every day at noon and Mondays and Fridays at 2PM, as well.
That’s it for now folks! I think my ramblings were a little better this time. I am still working on it. Have a great one!
