Seth F. Eisenberg, J.D., M.B.A., is an attorney licensed to practice law in the states of New York, Colorado, and Connecticut. He also is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. While in private practice, Mr. Eisenberg has represented health care institutions and health care providers in litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. Mr. Eisenberg also has represented the news media (newspapers and television stations) and corporations in media law issues, including defamation litigation, prior restraints, public access to courtrooms and government meetings, and related First Amendment issues. In addition, Mr. Eisenberg represented schools and facilities for the disabled and individuals with disabilities seeking to obtain a free, appropriate public education.
After several years in private practice, Mr. Eisenberg was appointed to serve as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas J. McAvoy, United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York. In that capacity, Mr. Eisenberg was responsible for assisting the judge in resolving motions before the court, performing legal research for the court, drafting judicial decisions, and assisting with the administration of civil and crimial trials.
Mr. Eisenberg then returned to private practice where he worked exclusively representing employers in labor, employment, and benefits-related issues. Mr. Eisenberg frequently litigated cases in federal and state courts and also represented clients in mediation and arbitration.
In 2002, Mr. Eisenberg was asked to come back to federal court to assist the Hon. Thomas J. McAvoy with a federal death penalty case. Mr. Eisenberg agreed and was reappointed to work with Judge McAvoy and the Hon. David N. Hurd, U.S.D.J.
Mr. Eisenberg continues to work for Judge McAvoy in the Northern District of New York.

Mr. Eisenberg gives lectures health care, legal, and law enforcement professionals seeking continuing education credits and/or desiring to become up-to-date on current legal issues affecting their respective professions.
Mr. Eisenberg began teaching at Ithaca College in the Spring of 2000. He also teaches at the Tompkins Cortland Community College. He teaches courses in International Business Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Electronic Commerce and the Law, and Employment Law.
While working as a media lawyer, Mr. Eisenberg frequently litigated issues concerning New York's Open Meetings Law and Freedom of Information Law. Together with Peter Danziger, Esq., they authored the following publications:
