Welcome to the School of Business at Ithaca College, a place where you will connect to your future through a faculty passionate about student learning, our field-based curriculum, award-winning student organizations, and engaged alumni. Our faculty members are role models in and beyond the classroom: they are not only teachers and scholars but also devoted community members who donate their time to such projects as sustainable development in Ecuador. Our students volunteer as well, traveling, for example, to the frozen tundra to prepare tax returns for Native Alaskans. In addition, our student organizations provide the leadership and professional development opportunities you'll need for future success.
We offer two undergraduate degree programs:
Your business coursework begins in your first year. And the immersion continues throughout your four years at Ithaca, with advanced business classes as early as sophomore year.
We believe in educating students not only for business but for life. Half of your courses will be selected from the College's extensive offerings in the liberal arts. In addition to your business curriculum and activities, you may also choose to write poetry, speak Italian, create sculpture, or sing a cappella. You can study abroad at the College's London Center or intern with organizations such as MTV, the New York Stock Exchange, and the World Bank. The possibilities are endless.
Graduate students can jump-start their careers in either our master of business administration program or our M.B.A. in professional accountancy, which is designed to meet the 150-hour educational requirement to sit for the CPA examination in most states.
Ithaca College's commitment to sustainability resonates in the School of Business, where the "triple bottom line" -- people, planet, and prosperity -- is being woven into the fabric of the curriculum. And we are currently building a new, sustainably designed home for the School of Business. We are proud to be developing a facility that exemplifies the responsible use of natural resources and an understanding of organizations as citizens in their communities.
In short, if you're excited about business and want a college that connects you with experienced faculty, courses in the liberal arts, a wide range of student activities and organizations, and real-world experience, you've come to the right place.
