Welcome to the Ithaca College School of Business, a place where you will connect to your future through award-winning student organizations, engaged alumni, and a faculty passionate about teaching.
Our faculty members are role models in and beyond the classroom. In addition, our student organizations provide the leadership and professional development opportunities you'll need for future success. Many of these student groups organize and host on-campus activities such as the annual Beta Alpha Psi dinner that honors our accounting students and provides an opportunity for students, faculty, alumni, and professionals to network. Our students also shine in national and regional spotlights. Our American Marketing Association has received Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Awards, and Sigma Iota Epsilon, a national honorary and professional fraternity for all management-related disciplines at Ithaca College, received the National Chapter of the Year Award for 2008-2009, the seventh time since the chapter’s charter in 1999.
Your business coursework begins in your first year. The immersion continues throughout your four years at Ithaca, with advanced business classes as early as your sophomore year. We believe in educating students not only for business but for life. Half of your courses will be selected from the College's extensive offerings in the liberal arts. The possibilities are endless. We will also provide you with opportunities to network with alumni, many of whom are accomplished professionals working at the top of their fields. When you meet and connect with professionals among the IC alumni community, you are starting up a conversation and developing a connection that could lead to an internship or career.
Ithaca College's commitment to sustainability resonates in the School of Business. We are now located in a new, sustainably designed home for the School of Business: the Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise. We are proud to have built a facility that exemplifies the responsible use of natural resources and an understanding of organizations as citizens in their communities. In fact, the Park Center was the first facility for a college or university business school and one of the first 100 buildings worldwide to earn platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the highest level granted by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Graduate students can jump-start their careers in either our master of business administration program or our M.B.A. in professional accountancy, which is designed to meet the 150-hour educational requirement to sit for the CPA examination in most states.
In short, if you're excited about business and want a college that connects you with experienced faculty, courses in the liberal arts, a wide range of student activities and organizations, and real-world experience, you've come to the right place.
