Welcome to the Ithaca College School of Business, where you will find a community devoted to preparing students with the knowledge, skills, tools, and experience for careers and success in the business world. Rigorous academics, career-focused professional development, mentorship, and participation in extracurricular activities are fused to create the Ithaca Experience at the School of Business.
Ready to work with the best? Our faculty are passionate about teaching and are recognized for quality scholarship and dedicated service to their students and to their community. They strive to keep their classrooms interesting, current, and dynamic with a focus on the practical application of business theory to real world problems. When combined with the liberal arts courses from the Integrated Core Curriculum, our students not only develop expertise in their business discipline, but also the capacity to think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems. This combination of skills prepares IC graduates for success in the global marketplace.
Want more than a solid curriculum? Your business education extends well beyond the classroom with opportunities like study abroad, ICNYC, student organizations, and global business honor societies. Our student organizations compete in national and regional academic competitions. Our American Marketing Association has received Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Awards and IC students have taken first place in several business plan competitions. Beta Gamma Sigma (Business) and Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting) honor societies distinguish our top performing students.
Looking to your future? Career Services has a staff of career development professionals who will help you research career opportunities in your field, create a professional resume and cover letter, and develop critical interviewing skills. Along with our External Relations Director, the staff builds and maintains relationships with alumni and corporate partners to create opportunities for our students. The IC alumni community are loyal and proud supporters of their alma mater. Our network stays engaged by guest speaking engagements on campus, hosting networking events at their firms, mentoring on careers, and sponsoring internships.
Interested in world class facilities? Our building, the Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise, was the first facility for a college or university business school and one of the first 100 buildings worldwide to earn platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The cutting edge Center for Trading and Analysis of Financial Instruments (CTAFI), otherwise known as the Trading Room, is at the heart of our finance program and serves as a showcase for our Investments Track.
Not sure business is your thing? Whether your passion is music, theater arts, healthcare, sports, or a communication discipline, there’s a business aspect to every profession. Students from other schools can explore the business behind their calling with an exploratory course or even a complimentary business minor. Graduate students can accelerate into our MBA program or the MBA in Professional Accountancy. The MBA program is not limited to students with an undergraduate degree in business and we welcome students from other schools interested in pursuing an interdisciplinary graduate degree.
Excited? So are we! If you are searching for a college with engaged faculty, passionate alumni, a solid liberal arts foundation, and real-world experiential learning, you've found your home at the Ithaca College School of Business.
