Spring Awakening
Exploring the darkest aspects of teen sexuality, Spring Awakening swept the Tony Awards in 2008. Now this hard-hitting rock musical is sweeping into Ithaca. In this powerful story, schoolmates turn toward one another and away from a repressive adult society only to be tragically and irrevocably changed by their relationships.

Joy Ladin: Through the Door of Life: A Jewish Journey Between Genders
At 7:30 p.m., in Textor 101, Dr. Joy Ladin will be speaking on her experiences as a transgender Jew, transitioning from male to female and teaching at Yeshiva University, an Orthodox Jewish university in New York City. The title of her talk is "Through the Door of Life: A Jewish Journey between Genders." At noon she will read from her latest book of poetry, "The Definition of Joy," in the Handwerker Gallery, on the first floor of the Gannett Center. She holds the David and Ruth Gottesman Chair in English at Stern College of Yeshiva University, where, in 2007, she became the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution. Her visit to Ithaca College is sponsored by the Jewish Studies Program and the LGBT Center.
