On Thursday, February 28, 2008, approximately 325 Metro New York alumni, parents, and friends gathered at Tavern on the Green to celebrate the end of the Campaign for Ithaca College: Making a World of Difference. After an opening cocktail reception, Tony DeSare ’98 began the program with a few celebratory songs. Next, volunteer Jay Linden ’72 welcomed guests and reported that Metro New York–area donors contributed over $19.2 million toward our incredible $145 million campaign total. Shelley Semmler, vice president for institutional advancement at Ithaca College, thanked the Metro New York Regional Committee volunteers for all their hard work and highlighted the accomplishments of Peggy R. Williams during her 11 years of service as our president. President Williams concluded the program with a multimedia presentation demonstrating the positive impact the campaign will have on our students and thanking our Metro New York donors for their support. The evening concluded with a reception featuring the music of Tish Rabe ’73 and IC music professor Steve Brown ’64, M.M. ’68.
