Summer College for High School Students
The Summer College for High School Students Session I is
a three-week program
for academically talented students who have completed their sophomore or junior
year in high school. It provides
in-depth exposure to college academics and college life. Students select one
of the following courses and earn 2 or 3 college credits.
Session I: June 29 - July 18
- Introduction to Business
- Health Sciences: Foundations
and Careers
- General Psychology
- Contemporary Social Issues
- Personal Essay
- Acting I
The Summer College for High School Students Session II is
primarily for students who will be seniors in the fall. During this
five-week program, students take two college courses (from those
listed below) and earn 6 to 8 credits. Exceptional sophomores who
will be juniors in the fall may also apply.

The Summer College Minicourses are
for students who want to work closely with a professor exploring
one of the topics listed
below. Students may enroll in both minicourse sessions and/or the
three-week session. No grades are awarded, but students receive a
certificate of completion. The minicourses are open to all
qualified high school students.

Minicourses: July 27 - August 1

- Writing the Short Story

- Experimental Applications in Chemistry
Note to College Students
The three-week courses are regular Ithaca College 2-
and 3-credit courses offered specifically for high school students.
However, college
students may take these courses if they get approval. Contact the

The five-week courses are Ithaca College 3- and 4-credit
courses offered during summer session II; their schedules and descriptions
are provided in this
catalog. College students may register for these courses on a first-come, first-served
basis.
The minicourses are open only to high school students and earn no
credit.
