The Ithaca College bookstore, located in the Phillips Hall annex, is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., during the summer. Besides textbooks and general interest books, the bookstore offers a large selection of clothing, greeting cards, telephones, tape recorders, radios, lamps, and other items for student apartments and rooms.
Mac’s, a convenience store, is located next to the bookstore. Open Monday through Friday during the summer, it sells convenience foods, snacks, frozen foods, candy, cigarettes, soda, milk, paper products, magazines, and health and beauty aids.
The career services office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Career counselors are available, by appointment or during drop-in hours, to meet with students about choosing a major, conducting a job search, or career development. Recruitment is active in the summer, offering a variety of employment opportunities and résumé referrals.
During the summer, the J. David Hammond Center for Student Health Services is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The staff nurse can provide first aid and treat minor problems. A College physician is also available during regularly scheduled hours each day. If necessary, referrals are made to local physicians and medical facilities. Fees are charged for medications dispensed at the health center, laboratory tests, and other miscellaneous services, as well as for services at all off-campus physician offices and medical facilities. Students must pay these fees at the time of the visit.
Information Technology Services (ITS), located in 102 Muller Faculty Center, provides computing support to all members of the campus community and provides an extensive suite of productivity and Internet software on all publicly accessible computers. The campus is entirely networked for high-speed data access. Students can access the e-mail server, Nova file server, library system, College web server, and Internet from virtually anywhere on campus. Internet service in the residence halls is provided by Apogee Telecom (www.apogeetelecom.com) for a nominal fee.
Members of the ITS staff provide free workshops and consulting services to Ithaca College students and faculty, and the ITS computer help desk is available to assist all members of the College community during business hours. The library, located on the second to fifth floors of the Gannett Center, contains nearly half a million holdings in books, periodicals, and microforms in addition to its electronic and online resources. The library’s catalog is easily accessible online, and the interlibrary loan system makes even more resources available. The library has access to thousands of libraries in the United States and abroad, and its web page provides lists of electronic resources and links that support the College’s programs, including digital audio, electronic reserves for courses, and electronic books.
Reference librarians are available to show students and faculty how to use various print references as well as the Internet and the latest electronic indexing and abstracting services. They can also recommend appropriate materials and research strategies. Multimedia Services, located in the library, offers videos, films, and DVDs.

All mail for summer sessions students is distributed from the Phillips Hall post office. Hours for pickup are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Ithaca College ID is required.
Students may park on campus without charge. However, vehicles must be registered with the Office of Parking and Traffic Services. (During the summer, the office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.) Summer sessions students with vehicles displaying a valid red permit may park in any red lot from Commencement day through the day before classes begin for the fall semester. Any vehicle that receives three parking violations and is parked in violation of the parking rules and regulations thereafter will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. The speed limit on campus roads is 25 miles per hour (unless otherwise posted) and 10 miles per hour in parking lots.
Report any on-campus emergencies, suspicious activities, and criminal offenses to the Office of Public Safety by using an emergency or blue-light telephone, or by dialing 911 from any Ithaca College campus phone or 607-274-3333 from any other phone. The public safety office is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year and is staffed by professional law enforcement officers and other professional and trained staff. The mission of the Office of Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure environment for the Ithaca College community.

Summer recreational opportunities for students abound at Ithaca College. Summer sessions students, matriculated Ithaca College students, and spring 2007 graduates may use the outdoor pool or work out in the state-of-the-art Fitness Center. The Fitness Center offers over 40 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, two complete Cybex circuits, and over 10,000 pounds of free-weights. Students can play a variety of pickup games in one of our two full-sized gymnasiums, climb on our indoor climbing wall, or explore the natural wonders of Ithaca with rentals from our outdoor recreation equipment center and guidance from our helpful staff. Outdoor tennis courts and the track are also available for use when seasonal maintenance is not being performed on them. IDs are required to use all of these facilities.
