Coeducational and nonsectarian, Ithaca is a nationally recognized comprehensive college of 6,400 students. In the center of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, Ithaca College's campus is 60 miles north of Binghamton and 60 miles south of Syracuse.
Founded in 1892 as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music, the College was located in downtown Ithaca until the 1960s, when the present campus was built on South Hill overlooking Cayuga Lake.
College Liability
Ithaca College will neither insure nor assume responsibility for the personal property of a summer sessions participant. It is the responsibility of each participant to provide insurance protection against the loss of personal property brought on campus.
Conduct
All summer sessions participants are required to abide by Ithaca College policies and procedures.
Identification Card
Students need an Ithaca College identification card to obtain a summer parking permit, check out books from the library, set up a computer account to use a computer lab, pick up mail at the post office, and use the Fitness Center and the outdoor swimming pool. Matriculated and extramural students who already have an Ithaca College ID card and have registered for the May session or for both of the five-week summer sessions may continue to use their ID, but only during the session(s) for which they have registered. The first replacement fee for a lost or stolen ID card is $10.
New matriculated students and first-time extramural students must have a photo taken for their ID card upon arrival on campus. Instructions for that procedure will be sent with confirmation of summer class registration. Late registrants must come to the summer sessions office for instructions about their ID card.
Extramural students taking short-term workshops will be sent only a temporary ID card with their confirmation of summer class registration. Late registrants must come to the summer sessions office for ID instructions.
