Other Resources and Information

Public libraries and college financial aid offices have further information readily available. Students should aggressively seek out and apply for financial assistance from grant, loan, and private scholarship sources. Students may also access a free internet scholarship service, FASTweb (www.fastweb.com). This and many other financial aid resources are listed by the Ithaca College Office of Financial Aid, www.ithaca.edu/finaid.

Among the websites with financial aid information are:

· U.S. Department of Education, www.ed.gov

· New York State Higher Education Services Corporation, www.hesc.com

· National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, www.nasfaa.org, offers a comprehensive selection of other links.

· Foundation for Exceptional Children provides information on scholarship opportunities for students with disabilities at www.cec.sped.org/fd/scholapp.htm

In addition to the financial aid programs listed in this catalog, there are many specialized aid programs. A few of these are listed below.

Both New York State and the federal government offer educational grants to American Indians. For information on the federal program, contact United States Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, New York Liaison Office, Room 523, 100 South Clinton St., Syracuse, NY 13260, 315-423-5476.

The Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) offers educational opportunities to persons who are disabled or legally blind.
