Summer Study Abroad ProgramsIthaca College has developed a number of short (2-4 weeks) study tours led by Ithaca College faculty members, and more of these opportunities are continually being developed. The College makes every effort to keep the cost of these courses low so that as many students as possible have the opportunity to go abroad. Please contact the Office of International Programs for information on current short-term study-abroad opportunities. Summer Science Research in EuropeEach summer, a number of biology students have the opportunity to participate in a research exchange program with the University of Godollo in Hungary. While Ithaca College students conduct research abroad, several biology majors from Hungary study on our campus. Biology students on the Ithaca campus must register for 303-30000. Participants are selected by their department, which administers the program. For current information regarding course offerings, fees, and schedules for any of the above programs, please contact the Office of International Programs directly at 607-274-3306, fax 607-274-1515, or e-mail intlprog@ithaca.edu. National Affiliated Programs in Marine BiologyAffiliations with the Sea Education Association (SEA) and the Duke University Marine Laboratory (DUML) allow students to broaden their understanding of the ocean first hand. Both are one-semester programs (fall, spring, or summer). Certain courses will fulfill elective credit requirements for a biology degree or general education requirements in the School of Humanities and Sciences. For information and advisement, please see program coordinators in the biology department (Professor Susan Allen-Gil for SEA, Professor Nancy Jacobson for DUML). Students should apply through the Office of International Programs. |
