This on-line rendering of the Ithaca College undergraduate catalog provides the exact text of the printed version, even where the substance of it may have been revised in the meantime.
In some ways this goes against the spirit of the World Wide Web. However, since the catalog is an official document that remains in force until the next edition is published, it seems useful to provide access to that document in its official form. To learn about any changes in programs or policies, consult the office or department concerned.
The conversion from the text file to Web site was done by translation software, HTML Transit. Without such software, it would be prohibitively difficult to get the catalog on the Web. However, many of the finer details of hypertext usage that a human coder could have provided are not possible with an automated translation. Nevertheless, we hope that the result is useful and invite comments on how it could be improved.
