Financial Aid

Unfortunately, financial aid is not available to students who are registered on a non-degree basis. The College does, however, offer comprehensive financial aid packages to eligible full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to degree study (matriculated) at Ithaca. If you plan to become a matriculated student and are concerned about financing your education, contact the financial aid office at 607-274-3131.

Career services

If you are seeking assistance with career exploration or development, the career services office in Gannett Center offers individual attention from a professional staff person. Call 607-274-3365 for an appointment. Career counselors are available to assist you on a drop-in basis.

Parking

When you first visit the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies, use the parking spaces in J lot reserved for visitors. After you complete your course registration, you should register your vehicle with Parking and Traffic Services. You will need a photocopy of your current vehicle registration. The fee is $106 for the fall and spring semesters or $53 for the spring semester only. There is no charge for summer parking. After your vehicle is properly registered, all student (red) lots are available for your use. Please plan to make payment for parking with a separate check; do not include the fee in your tuition payment.

Library

The Ithaca College library, located in Gannett Center, offers numerous services and information resources in electronic and print formats, including books, periodicals, compact discs, phonograph records, audiotapes, and videotapes. An online catalog is available to locate materials (www.ithaca.edu/library). You can search the catalog in the library or your personal computer. Reference librarians are also available to assist you. You will find that these helpful individuals can provide tips on how to use various print and electronic resources, direct you to appropriate materials, and recommend research strategies.

Computing Services

Non-degree students may use the computers in several labs operated by the Office of Information Technology (ITS). The largest and most-used microcomputer facility is the complex on the first floor of Friends Hall. The labs are staffed by student consultants who are skilled at helping people with word-processing and other computer applications. Before you can use ITS's services, you'll need to get a computer account. Just stop by ITS's main office at 102 Muller Faculty Center with your student ID card.

Writing Center

The writing center, located in Roy H. Park Hall, room 228, offers tutoring to students who need assistance with any stage of the writing process. Services include help with reading comprehension and study skills, individual instruction in English for nonnative speakers, one-on-one conferences, instructional handouts, and a reference library.

Services for Students with Disabilities

Ithaca College seeks to ensure that all students with disabilities are provided access to and are able to participate fully in its programs and activities. If you have a documented disability or feel you may have an undiagnosed learning problem, please feel free to contact the Office of Academic Support Services for Students with Disabilities at 607-274-1005.

Accessibility and Accommodation

Questions about Ithaca College's accessibility and requests for accommodation for individuals with disabilities should be addressed to the Office of Affirmative Action, 607-274-3909 (voice), 607-274-1767 (TDD), or bleblanc@ithaca.edu.

Bookstore

Located in the Phillips Hall annex, the Ithaca College bookstore is open Monday through Friday. In addition to textbooks and general interest books, the bookstore provides clothing, greeting cards, telephones, tape recorders, radios, lamps, and other items for students.

Dining Services

The food court, located in the Campus Center, offers a wide variety of food at modest prices. You may also buy fixed-price meals in the campus dining halls.

Recreational Facilities

Campus recreational facilities are available to students. They include a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, which houses an exercise area, an aerobics studio, an indoor climbing wall, and two gymnasiums; the indoor swimming pool in Hill Center; and a recreation center in Phillips Hall. Outside are a track, tennis courts, and, during the summer, a pool.
