Grants.Gov Workshop 08

Do you apply for government grants? Do you assist people who do? Do you wish to apply for government grants? Paul Hamill, Director of Academic Funding and Sponsored Programs, will present a workshop for faculty members and also their departmental assistants. On Thursday, November 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 in CHS 202, the workshop is primarily for those who are already involved in the grants process. If you are in the exploration and design stages, the first hour of the workshop will be most useful to you. Please register on the online form at this link.

Congress has directed that all federal grant proposals must be submitted through the all-agency portal, grants.gov, and almost all agencies now use this system.  Faculty and staff who plan to submit grants will find it useful to learn about grants.gov if they have not yet used it. Acquaintance with the system may enable departmental assistants to help faculty in grant preparation. The process involves preparation of files on local work stations and transfer as PDFs to Academic Funding for submission.

This workshop is for faculty and interested administrative assistants or other staff.  The first half hour will discuss how to create a grant budget; the second hour will demonstrate the submission process and answer questions.
