Teaching Talk & Tips

Featured Document

Teaching Talk & Tips is a new format that combines features of teaching workshops and brown bag lunch conversations. Anyone teaching here can propose a question, a day and time, and even a location to Susanne Morgan. She will locate some resources on the topic, find a space if necessary, and publicize the event. Any resources produced will become part of the Center for Faculty Excellence page.

Since we have so much expertise on teaching on our campus, we think these conversations will attract people who have experience and suggestions to share. Since we have so many noontime events, we want to schedule your discussion at a time and location that are convenient to you.

“PowerPoint: What Are Your Tips?” is Rebecca Lesses’ question for our second Teaching Talk & Tips conversation. We will meet on Friday, March 28, 10-11 am, in Williams 108. Marilyn Dispensa of ITS can come, we can do a little show and tell, and mostly share what you do……or what you don’t do and why. As before, we expect both tentative and experienced users.

This new series of campus conversations from the Center for Faculty Excellence began with "I'm a WebCT Newbie: What Features Should I Use First?" on Friday February 29, 9:00-10:00 am in CHS 413. John Krout, who will be using WebCT for the first time in Sociology of Aging, and Marilyn Dispensa, our new Academic Technology Coordinator, joined Susanne Morgan and many faculty members to explore the question. Responses are on the right.

Be part of these conversations! Please contact Susanne Morgan with your question!
