  • Your associate dean is an invaluable resource (download a pdf at bottom on right.)
  • Calendar issues: on Registrar page
    • Designated holidays: No exams on holidays or the calendar day following  Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Dates are specified in the Academic Calendar in the Registrar's page.
    • Final examinations: Specific times related to the course meeting times. Do not give a final exam (or the equivalent) during the last week of classes. Exam schedule on Registrar's page
  • The Undergraduate Catalog is online through the Academic page and also hardcopy each year. It is the source of many policies, including:
    • Attendance policy: all syllabi must include one, even if your policy says that attendance is optional.
    • Grading policies and  procedures in a dispute (see Associate Dean!)
    • We may remove a student from a course.
  • Academic Misconduct:
    • Plagiarism policies are part of the Student Conduct Code in the Policy Manual and the Student Handbook.
    • Academic misconduct procedures are spelled out in 7.1.2.6 of the College Policies.
  • Reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities are facilitated through Academic Support Services for Students with Disabilities.
  • Faculty have significant responsibilities for maintaining privacy of student records, through F.E.R.P.A., the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Implications for faculty are provided by the Registrar's Office.
  • Course Packets are in the gray area of copyright law. The library provides information on copyright policy and will help make online reserves.
  • Questions about sexual harassment can be explored in the college policy manual or by contacting Traevena Byrd, College Attorney and Director of Affirmative Action.
  • The Faculty Handbook includes policies on faculty conduct
  • Many other campus-wide policies are in Volume II of the college policy manual.
