Welcome to the Ithaca College Cognition Lab Home Page
The Cognition Laboratory is a facility in the Psychology Department used for research on the development of the mind. Children of all ages and adults
participate in research in the lab that is designed to help us understand more about such topics as: perception, language,
problem solving and emotion.
Undergraduate Psychology Majors who work in the lab are supervised by Nancy Rader, Ph.D.; for over 25 years she has been doing
research in this area and has worked with participants as young as a few hours old and as old as 90 years. In the lab, students
gain valuable experience working with children and families as well as a greater appreciation and knowledge of the nature of research.
Our research with children depends upon the generosity and good will of
families in the community to assist in this educational and scientific
work. We appreciate the participation of those who have helped us
in the past and look forward to meeting new families in the future.
